He flies through the air with the greatest of ease....

As a kid growing up in Venice Florida I often wondered what it would be like to swing on the flying trapeze. Venice was the winter headquarters for the Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus, and the famous trapeze family "The Flying Gaonas" actually lived on my street. Unfortunately for me, the trapeze in the Gaonas backyard wasn't something their insurance company wanted neighborhood kids swinging on. So my curiosity went unfulfilled. That is until a few weekends ago. My wife, who also grew up in a circus town ( Peru Indiana ), signed us up for Trapeze Experience. My Trapeze Experience was amazing. Peter Gold was able to take our group from the ground to the air in just a few minutes. In less than two hours we were all swinging, flipping and flying through the air to be caught by a catcher before swinging back and flipping into the net below. All of us grinning from ear to ear. It was an experience I would highly recommend to anyone, young or old. I'm going to upload a video of my wife Lisa to YouTube.com with the keywords "Trapeze Experience" that you can check out for yourself. I'd like to thank Peter Gold and his team for a great memory and I encourage everyone to check out their website at www.Trapeze-Experience.com.

Just an idea

I just posted an idea to my Zaadz idea section that requires some explanation.  My idea is to "Make listening to music a social experience again".  I have an iPod just like every other kid on the block, but I still believe that music is best when it's shared with friends.  Walking thought the world with ear-buds plugged in just creates one more degree of separation in a world that already has an excess of social isolation.  I'm not suggesting that we go back to a time before iPods, Cell Phones and Blackberry's, but I do think the world would be a better place if we had more one on one interaction between people.

Being a geek, I've come up with what I think may be a workable technological solution.  I call this idea the iBorg (with a tip of the hat to Star-Trek). The iBorg would be a new kind of music listening device that would have the power to transmit music as well as to receive it.   FM is too scratchy, but perhaps this could be done with the new digital FM technology.   Wi-Fi, Infrared or Bluetooth may also be workable but whatever the mode of transmission, it would be nice if the range were about 30 yards or more.  This would enable one to host "silent raves" with friends.  Just imagine every kid on your school bus jamming out to the same song instead of sitting isolated in their own little world.  Imagine you and a dozen of your friends having a silent dance party under a streetlight on the corner at 2am.  Imagine a world where listening to music is a social event again.  Hey Steve Jobs, Imagine the iBorg!
